Developing a systematic approach to the management of OH&S in the workplace is a matter of starting at the beginning and working through your operations to identify what you should be doing.
Any OHSMS, in order to meet the relevant Australian Standard must have:
- Management Commitment
- Planning, Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Controls
- Detailed implementation of the elements that have been identified
- Monitoring of performance on an ongoing basis
- Review of your Management System and operations
Without any one of these elements your system is just not up to Standard.
